Centennial Drone Light Show

At 8:30 p.m., the night sky comes alive with a free drone light show — featuring 150 illuminated drones that will fly over Bob Peters Field to create spectacular images of Centralia's history, icons, and community spirit – all set to music . Best place to watch the show is from your chair or blanket on Little Centennial Field by the Clock Tower.

These free events celebrate two major milestones—our City's 150th birthday and Centralia College's 100th anniversary. It's a once-in-a-generation celebration, and everyone's invited!

Centralia Ballet Academy - The Nutcracker Auditions

On Saturday September 13th, Centralia Ballet Academy will be holding auditions for their annual production of The Nutcracker.  They are looking for dancers who are 8 years or older and are currently enrolled in a ballet class.  It is not required for the dancer to be a student at CBA.  For more information, and to sign up, please go to www.centraliaballet.com.  The deadline to sign up will be Thursday September 11th.  Space will be limited.  For those cast in the show, there will be a $50 participation fee. 
 
In addition to performances at Centralia College's Corbett Theater on December 6 and 7, CBA will be bringing The Nutcracker to the incredible Performing Arts Center in Shelton on December 13 and 14.  Historically, Shelton is known as Christmastown USA and currently holds the Guinness Book record for Most Lit Christmas Trees.  The show will include new sets and beautiful costumes.  CBA has been recognized nationally and globally for their innovative programs and productions.  If you have questions about auditions or the show, you can call/text CBA at 360-623-9010, or email them at info@centraliaballet.com.

Centennial Picnic

From 11 to 3, enjoy an old-fashioned Centennial Picnic with games, food, and family fun. Picnic goers are invited to bring chairs and a picnic blankets - and leave them on campus to reserve a spot for the 8:30pm drone show sponsored by the City of Centralia.

Southwest Washington Writers Conference

The 11th annual Southwest Washington Writers Conference will be held Sept. 12-13 at Centralia College. Both published and hopeful writers are invited to register for master classes on Friday and/or Saturday's slate of 24 workshops. Presenters are published, acclaimed authors.  Registration is encouraged by Sept. 5.

Onalaska Volunteer Firefighter Association's 4th Annual Car Show

The Onalaska Volunteer Firefighter Association's 4th Annual Car Show is being held on Saturday, August 9th from 9AM to 3PM at the main fire station, 1733 State Hwy 508, in Onalaska. Following that, we'll open the floor for individuals to share concerns and discuss the challenges they're currently facing. While we anticipate many questions will center around the federal VA system, there has also been growing conversation around how state-level policies are impacting veterans in our community.

It's the Mossyrock Blueberry Festival this weekend! Summer Feeding Program

The Centralia School District in Conjunction with the USDA offers a summer feeding program for children in the area. This years program will be held at two locations: Centralia High Scholl beginning Tuesday, June 17th until Thursday, July 3rd from Monday through Friday and Fords Prairie Elementary beginning July 7th until July 17th, Monday through Thursday. The program is free for children 18 years old and under. For more information contact the Centralia School District Food Service Director.
